This simple, satisfying breakfast has become one of our go-to meals. Just toast, egg, and rich, umami-packed miso butter. Best part? The miso butter can be made ahead of time and used on everything from toast to pasta or even baked potatoes.

Ingredients
- Toasted sourdough bread
- ½ cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 2 tbsp @sharedcultures Black Garlic Miso
- 1 egg (cooked to your liking)
- Scallions, chopped (optional)
- Sansho pepper or black pepper
Method
- Make the miso butter: In a bowl, mix together butter, miso, and scallions if using. Store leftovers in the fridge.
- Assemble the toast: Spread miso butter generously on toasted sourdough.
- Top with a cooked egg and finish with scallions and a sprinkle of sansho or black pepper.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
