Miso Braised Shallot Dip

Featuring Shared Cultures Chanterelle Mushroom Miso

Ingredients

  • 2 cups shallots, peeled and quartered
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1.5 - 2 tbsp Shared Cultures Chanterelle Mushroom Miso
  • Spread:
    2 cups greek yogurt
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs, for garnish

Method

  1. In a pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add in shallots (cut side down) until browned.
  2. Add balsamic vinegar and pinch of salt. Let cook until softened and sauce has thickened.
  3. Remove pan from heat and add in miso. Stir to mix well.
  4. In a bowl, mix together yogurt, lemon juice, zest, salt and pepper.
  5. When ready to serve, spread yogurt mixture on serving plate.
  6. Add shallots in the center and drizzle sauce all over.
  7. Garnish with fresh herbs.
  8. Serve with crusty bread or crackers. Enjoy!
