We’re so excited to host Honey Lopez of Cucina Lupa for our first hand shaped pasta class! Come make some pasta together! In this hands-on workshop, we will be exploring the beautiful art of handmade pasta. Using only flour, eggs, and a little time and attention, you will learn to create your own pasta dough from scratch.
With this you will have the opportunity to handshape a variety of classic pastas including garganelli, sopressini, farfalle, tagliatelle and more!
At the end of class, the chefs will offer a cooking demo and small tasting using fresh pasta and Shared Cultures honeynut squash miso =)
Students will take home about 2 servings of class-made fresh pasta to cook or freeze.
This is a hands-on, 2.5 hour workshop.
This class is taught by Honey Lopez of Cucina Lupa. Chef Honey Grace Lopez has not yet met a pasta she didn’t want to share with her students. This love (obsession?) has led her to study pasta in kitchens around the world: from a world-renowned 100-acre organic farm and kitchen in West Cork, Ireland, to the Southern Coast of France, to Calabria, Italy, where she truly honed her pasta making skills while cooking, eating, and learning about as much Italian Cuisine as she could get her hands on. Most recently, chef Honey managed the pasta room at local favorite Molti Amici during its first year, within which they earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand, while also teaching pasta classes throughout the Bay Area. Currently, she works with her husband running their business Lupa, which offers specialty pasta and cooking classes, fresh pasta pop-ups, and custom, made-to-order tiramisu for small events.
