Miso Braised Leeks

Miso braised leeks is a side dish that’s simple but packs a punch. Leeks are lightly charred then simmered in a savory miso sauce until softened. This one deserves a permanent spot on your rotation!

Ingredients:

  • 3 large leeks (white part), cut into 1-inch chunks
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • lemon juice
  • Chili flakes

Braising liquid:

Method:

  1. Prepare leeks and clean off any debris.
  2. Preheat a pan to medium high heat and add in oil.
  3. Place leeks (cut side down) onto pan and let it cook undisturbed for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Flip leeks to other side and let cook for a minute.
  5. In a bowl, mix together braising liquid.
  6. Pour into pan and cover.
  7. Cook for a few minutes. Add more water if needed.
  8. Remove from pan and add to a serving plate.
  9. Add lemon juice and chili flakes.
  10. Enjoy as a side.
