Miso Braised Leeks
Miso braised leeks is a side dish that’s simple but packs a punch. Leeks are lightly charred then simmered in a savory miso sauce until softened. This one deserves a permanent spot on your rotation!
Ingredients:
- 3 large leeks (white part), cut into 1-inch chunks
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- lemon juice
- Chili flakes
Braising liquid:
- ½ cup water
- 2 heaping tbsp Shared Cultures Chanterelle Miso
- 1 tbsp honey or syrup
Method:
- Prepare leeks and clean off any debris.
- Preheat a pan to medium high heat and add in oil.
- Place leeks (cut side down) onto pan and let it cook undisturbed for 1-2 minutes.
- Flip leeks to other side and let cook for a minute.
- In a bowl, mix together braising liquid.
- Pour into pan and cover.
- Cook for a few minutes. Add more water if needed.
- Remove from pan and add to a serving plate.
- Add lemon juice and chili flakes.
- Enjoy as a side.
