Miso Chocolate Bark

Miso Chocolate Bark

Serves: 3-4 people

Ingredients

  • 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped or chips
  • 1 tsp Shared Cultures Miso of choice
  • Toppings (optional): chopped nuts, toasted coconut, flaky salt

Directions

  1. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the chocolate gently in a heatproof bowl set over a small saucepan of barely simmering water, stirring until smooth.
  3. Pour the melted chocolate onto the parchment paper and spread into an even layer.
  4. Dot the miso across the surface in tiny pea-sized bits. Use a toothpick or tip of a knife to swirl it lightly into the top layer. Alternatively, use a spoon to thoroughly mix it in. 
  5. Add toppings and press them in lightly.
  6. Let set at cool room temp until firm, or chill until set. Break into shards.

Notes

  • Miso amount: 1 Tbsp is a solid “you notice it” level. If your miso is strong or very salty, start with 2 tsp next time.

Salt: only add flaky salt if you like a real salt hit. Miso brings plenty.
